Bilingual clinic offering consecutive days and weekend hours for students. Located near public transportation. Evening hours are also available. The preceptor has 3 years of experience and has taken students from Walden, Nazarene, Chamberlain, and other universities. The clinic sees patients of all ages. Preceptor sees patients with acute and chronic conditions and does women’s health as well (prenatal and postpartum).

This clinic has a high patient volume and offers consecutive days for traveling students. In this site students will work with medication management, psychological testing, hormone balancing testing, and “the service of the severely mentally ill” (according to the preceptor), which also includes “the mentally handicap and clinically depressed.”

Psychiatry/Mental Health in Lanham

Located near public transportation. This clinic covers “the entire spectrum of psychological testing and assessments ” (according to the preceptor) and works with patients of all ages. The clinic conducts mental stability examinations and psychoanalysis of the left and right side of the brain.

Also tested are the correlation between stressful events and “mental blocks” or “long-term mental issues” (according to the preceptor). Testing is done on site and the clinic sees 10 to 19 patients daily.

Primary Care (adult only) in Glen Burnie

This clinic offers evening hours and has a diverse population. Students will be expected to obtain a patient’s history, perform physical examinations on patients 18 years or older, assess patients with withdrawal syndrome, provide interventions, provide services for acute and episodic situations, evaluate and treat patients with chronic medical conditions, and screen for patients with: hypertension, diabetes, obesity, HLD, allergies, and other conditions.

This clinic offers weekend hours and will allow students to perform physical history examinations and “patient conversation,” according to the preceptor. Students will diagnose and discuss pneumonia, COPD, ACS, strokes, seizures, cellulitis, common colds, the flu, compound fractures, lack of sleep, and dehydration, for starters.

Bilingual clinic offering: evening hours, weekend hours, and consecutive days for traveling students. Located near public transportation (bus and train). The clinic performs over-the-phone consults to understand the patient’s symptoms and refer them to the nearest hospital. Aside from that, students will perform physical examinations and treat patients with epilepsy, high blood pressure and weight loss management.

Primary Care (all ages) in Baltimore

Students will get a lot of experience with a dynamic, multi-cultural population. The clinic sees patients of all ages with ailments ranging from the common cold to “specific organ ailments,” according to the preceptor. Some women’s health issues will be included as well. The preceptor requires that students indicate if they need their house call or in-clinic schedule.

Outpatient clinic seeing patients of all ages with problems such as diabetes, hypertension and CKD. Women’s health and men’s health issues also present, as well as chronic care management. Primary Care (adult only) in Glen Burnie

Urgent care setting with a patient load 16 years and up. They will present with acute issues such as diabetes, COPD, and STIs. The clinic also performs school team physicals, does flu shots, and performs multiple respiratory examinations related to cold or flu symptoms. Medication management is also present for individuals that need specific long-term medications.

The clinic sees patients of all ages and offers many learning opportunities regarding pediatric patients and women’s health issues. Family practice within a federally qualified health center. Most patients are adults but there some pediatric patients as well. Located in a low socioeconomic area in Dorchester County with patients struggling with financial issues and chronic health conditions. The clinic is bilingual and offers consecutive days for traveling students.

Acute Care and Primary Care in Oakland

The preceptor works in a hospital (acute care) and a clinic (urgent care, primary care). This is a rural area with a smaller hospital that has a 4-bed ICU, 28-bed medical and tele unit, 13-bed ER, and a 10-bed sub acute rehab unit. This clinic is part of the West Virginia University system. There’s also an X-ray suite and students will do procedures such as suturing, joint injections, and others.

The clinic sees patients of all ages, offers consecutive days, and has evening and weekend hours available for students.
