Meet Rogers, Our Accounting Coordinator!

Since I was little I was very interested in numbers, I suppose it was natural for me to become an accountant. At the age of 17 I was admitted to the Economics School of the Central University of Venezuela, one of the best universities in my country. However, with the passage of time I discovered that the Economy was not my thing, I found it very abstract and theoretical and it was not what I wanted. That is why after two semesters I decided to change both university and career, so I was admitted to the best private university in Venezuela: Andrés Bello Catholic University, where I studied and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

What I like the most about what I do is through the numbers interpret and analyze the functioning of companies. I think the most important thing is to enjoy what you do and always be willing to learn and improve. Although over the years my country has experienced numerous social and economic difficulties, it doesn’t take away the desire to overcome every challenge that life has imposed on me.

I have also had to face loss of loved ones very important to me as my father and grandfather were, over time I have learned that everything has a reason to be and always try to find the positive side of things.

As I said before, I’m an accountant and maybe this sounds a bit twisted, but my hobby is designing. 11 years ago I began to learn by myself how to handle adobe Photoshop and nowadays I know almost all its functions. I have experience with logos, flyers and photo retouching. It’s something that I really enjoy doing in my spare time!

Having the opportunity to work for a company like NPCR is a pride and a challenge at the same time. One of the things that I consider most important for a company is to provide excellent customer service, which is something characteristic of NPCR! Also having the opportunity to strengthen my English skills is very important for me, and this job allows me to meet new people, new cultures and increase knowledge in so many different fields.

I consider myself a very perfectionist person and sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself. However, I am open to observations and I am always willing to learn and help others if necessary which is very important to grow as a professional and as a person.
