How It Works

How to Submit a Rotation Request

Finding your next preceptor is easy - use our searchable map to find the specialty you need near you.

Once you’ve found a good match, make sure to review all of the details on the preceptor’s profile to ensure that they fit the requirements of your university. Then, select the hours and dates needed for your rotation and submit your deposit! Don’t worry - the deposit is refundable if for some reason your request is not accepted.

What happens after I pay the deposit?

01
Request

Rotation Requested

Once your rotation request has been submitted, the preceptor will review the details of your rotation request and your profile. This process can take on average 5-7 business days.

02
Progress

Preceptor Paperwork in Progress

When the preceptor accepts your request, we’ll provide them with the university paperwork we have on file for your school. If your school prefers to send paperwork directly, we’ll have them fill out a preceptor and administrator information form instead.

Your NPHub-designated Student Coordinator will work with you and your Preceptor to get this paperwork completed as quickly as possible. This process can take up to 7-10 business days, but is usually completed sooner than this.

03
Payment Due

Remaining Payment Due

When your paperwork is completed, you’ll receive an email to let you know that everything is ready for you to download! This is when your remaining balance is due. Please keep in mind that your remaining balance will be auto-charged within 14 calendar days if a payment is not made, or if a payment plan is not selected, if applicable.

You’ll also receive your preceptor’s resume, license information, and board certification with your paperwork.

04
Approval

Awaiting University Approval

Once you’ve downloaded your paperwork, submit everything to your university as soon as you can. Make sure to check in with your university clinical coordinator every so often to see if they have any updates.

And don’t worry - if for some reason your school rejects the preceptor, we will find you an alternative site (if available) or provide you with a refund.

05
Schedule

Rotation Scheduling

When your university approves your preceptor/clinical site, make sure to log into your Rotation Request Dashboard and click on the "My School Has Approved" button. This lets your preceptor (and us) know that you're ready for scheduling.

Your NPHub Student Coordinator will then provide you with the contact information of your preceptor/site so that you can arrange your schedule directly with them.

If the start date you decide on with your preceptor is different from the one you originally submitted, please let your Student Coordinator know! That way we can check in once you’ve started to make sure everything is going well.

06
Start

Rotation Started

You’ve made it to the finish line - great job! If you enjoyed your preceptor and clinical rotation, you can leave them a review on your Request Dashboard once your rotation has ended.

When you’re ready to book your next preceptor, don’t forget to let your NPHub Student Coordinator know so that they can suggest a preceptor option that works best for you and your university requirements!
