Unable To Find An NP Preceptor?
The True Costs of Delaying NP Graduation
The financial costs of failing to secure a preceptor in time to complete clinical rotations fall into three categories:
Additional Semesters of Tuition
Extending program enrollment to complete those hours later.
Delay in Career Progression
Missing out on access to full NP wages.
More Student Loan Interest
Additional months of interest to complete NP hours.
Total Extra Cost: $17,000 - $50,000
*Based on a 1-3 semester delay
Additional questions
You're not paying for the preceptor—you're paying for certainty in an uncertain process.
NP programs expect students to find their own preceptors, but most preceptors are overwhelmed with requests and don't respond. Students who search independently spend months calling, emailing, and facing rejection with no guarantee of success.
What your payment covers:
- Direct access to 2,000+ vetted, active preceptors ready to accept students.
- All paperwork coordination (credentials, affiliation agreements, school-specific formatting).
- Dedicated Student Coordinator support from request through rotation completion.
- Placement guarantee: If we can't place you, you get your money back.
Why preceptors participate: Compensating preceptors for their time and expertise ensures they remain available and motivated to provide quality mentorship. This combats the growing preceptor shortage and keeps you on track for graduation.
The tradeoff: You could spend 100+ hours searching on your own for free or invest in a service that places most students in 2-3 weeks with guaranteed support. For most students, the time saved and stress avoided is worth it.
Some preceptors charge more because they're harder to find and in higher demand.
Specialties like Psychiatry, Women's Health, and Acute Care often have limited preceptor availability, especially in competitive locations. These preceptors receive dozens of requests from students and can be selective about who they accept.
What affects pricing:
- Specialty demand: High-demand fields (PMHNP, WHNP) typically cost more
- Geographic location: Urban areas with more competition may have higher rates
- Preceptor experience: Highly credentialed preceptors with extensive teaching backgrounds may charge premium rates
Higher pricing reflects market reality—not NPHub's markup. We're transparent about costs upfront so you can budget accordingly and make informed decisions.
No! We do not require any credit checks to be eligible for any of our payment plans. All NP students have equal access to our payment options since we wanted to make it easy for you to get quality clinical training and graduate on time.
You choose your payment plan when your paperwork is ready—not when you first book.
Here's the timeline:
Step 1: Reserve Your Placement (15% Deposit)
Pay a small deposit to secure your preceptor and begin paperwork preparation.
Step 2: We Prepare Your Paperwork (14 business days)
Your Student Coordinator collects credentials, prepares affiliation agreements, and organizes everything for your school.
Step 3: Select Your Payment Plan & Download (When Ready)
Once your paperwork is complete, you'll receive an email notification. At that point, you select your preferred payment plan (pay in full, 3-month, or 12-month) and pay your first installment. Then you download your complete paperwork packet and submit to your school.
Why this timing makes sense: You're not paying the full balance until you have the documents you need. This reduces financial risk and gives you flexibility.
Spread your rotation costs over an entire year with fixed, manageable monthly payments — available to all students, regardless of rotation cost or timeline.
Once your paperwork is ready and you pay your first installment, the remaining balance is automatically divided into 12 equal monthly payments charged every 28 days.
No—you're always in control of when and how you pay.
When your paperwork is ready, you'll receive an email notification. You then have 14 days to log into your account, select your preferred payment plan (pay in full, 3-month, or 12-month), and pay your first installment.
What happens if you don't take action within 14 days:
To prevent delays in accessing your paperwork, the full remaining balance will be automatically charged to your account's default payment method. You'll receive reminder emails before this happens.
How to avoid auto-charge: Simply log in and select your payment plan within 14 days of receiving the notification. It takes less than 2 minutes.
Our refund and cancellation policies are designed to protect the students (in case issues occur with university approval or preceptor performance) and preceptors (to ensure they receive proper compensation after committing to the rotation) in a way that is fair and equitable.
